Sewage Works in Osaka, Japan

Present Status

The sewer served population ratio of Osaka City is nearly 100%, which is the highest among major cities in Japan. Osaka City adopts combined sewer systems and the current treatment capacity of 12 sewage treatment plants is 2,844,000 m3 per day. The stormwater discharge capacity of pumping stations is 1,320 m3/sec.
