Technology Outline (1) We rent our food waste fermentation/decomposition device to clients in the restaurant, the hotel, the hospital and the food manufacturing industry, etc. allowing them to biologically degrade and reduce food waste on their premises promptly and without unpleasant odours.
(2) The yeast decomposition beds are collected twice yearly.
(3) We sell our CERES safe bamboo chopsticks to clients in the restaurant industry, after which they are bought back and undergo carbonization processing at welfare facilities and are subsequently sold as recycled bamboo charcoal. The bamboo charcoal embedded with microorganisms is placed inside the food waste fermentation/decomposition device and finally returned to the soil.
(4) The collected yeast decomposition beds are completely composted with the addition of the recycled bamboo charcoal, residue from distilled shochu barley spirits and livestock waste.
(5) The new compost known as "Nagomi" (soil conditioning agent) is sold to contracted local farmers and welfare facilities.
(6) We purchase the agricultural crops safely produced by the contracted local farmers and welfare facilities.
(7) These crops are then sold to customers participating in the Merry's

(9) LCA assessment is performed on a regular basis.

the environmental impact of a product throughout its life.
(10) Supply of electricity (clean energy) by wind power station

CO2 emissions of conventional food waste collection, transport and landfill: 8.267 kg of CO2 (4,208,000 litres)
